My dog is 6. Is it too late?
No. Older dogs often learn faster than puppies because they concentrate for longer β what takes longer is unlearning a habit that has been rehearsed for years. The method is the same; expect a few more weeks on anything long-established.
I've tried positive reinforcement and it didn't work.
Usually one of three things: the reward wasn't valuable enough to compete with the distraction, the timing was a beat late, or the difficulty jumped too fast. The guide covers all three, because they account for most of the cases where the method appears to fail.
Does it deal with reactivity to other dogs?
It covers barking and reactivity with force-free management and desensitisation. If your dog has bitten or lunges seriously on lead, use it alongside a qualified behaviourist rather than instead of one β that needs someone watching your dog in person.
How much time does it take?
Short daily sessions rather than long weekly ones β a few minutes at a time works considerably better than an hour on Sunday, and it's how the guide is structured.
